Well, it's been several weeks since my last post and we have been BUSY! On November 29th I had my clicker 6 training with our SET consultant and the following Monday we met with all my SSW's to go over clicker and begin making templates that would help our students become familiar with the program.

While the heart of our project is the greening up of our school, we decided a good place to start would be the daily journal writing experience. We currently have three versions of a clicker set journal to allow each of our 12 students to become authors and share their daily experiences while exploring what clicker has to offer them.

It has been amazing to watch our students sit at a computer and write, whether they require hand-over-hand support or a few reminders about where and how to save their work. I give huge props to the Crick team that developed the clicker program, they truly had the needs of diverse learners like mine in mind when they developed this software.

However, the best moment of all came when one of my students asked to write a story using "the thing we do journals on." This is a student who cannot write or sit down to google something without asking "how do you spell....." I set him up with a clicker document with word prediction on and he began to write. He willingly gave up his free time to continue writing and then asked if he could stay after school to finish his story! After an amazing 40 minutes at the computer he had a page long story to take home to his family. We both left school beaming.
